Izzy Drive — Privacy Policy
Izzy Drive ("Izzy Drive", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Izzy Drive roadside-assistance platform, which connects drivers who need help with mechanics who provide it. This Privacy Policy applies to both of our mobile applications:
- IzzyDrive Client — for drivers / vehicle owners requesting assistance (referred to below as the "Driver app"), and
- IzzyDrive Mechanic — for mechanics / service providers offering assistance (referred to below as the "Mechanic app").
Where a data practice applies only to one app, we say so explicitly. By using either app, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect
Account & profile information
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Profile photo
- Shop / business name and business details (Mechanic app only)
- Vehicle information (optional, Driver app)
Location information
Real-time GPS location, including continuous location collected while the app runs in the background, so we can show nearby repair requests, match drivers with mechanics, display routes, estimate arrival times, and improve safety. See Section 3 for details and how to control this.
Photos and documents
- Photos and videos you take or upload to describe a vehicle problem or a repair.
- Documents you upload to verify your business or identity (Mechanic app only).
Audio / voice recordings
When you record a voice message inside the app, we collect and transmit that audio recording so it can be delivered to the other party in your order (voice recording is used in the Driver app; the Mechanic app plays back voice messages but does not record them).
Communications
- Text and voice messages exchanged between drivers and mechanics within an order.
- Call metadata only (time and duration) — we do not record phone calls.
Device & technical information
Device type and operating-system version, app version, IP address, and crash / diagnostic logs.
We do not collect special categories of data (such as health, biometric, or precise financial account data) and we do not process payments inside the app at this time.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Connect drivers and mechanics and process assistance requests;
- Provide map, routing, and location-based features;
- Deliver in-app messaging, including photo and voice messages;
- Send push notifications about your orders;
- Maintain safety, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
- Monitor performance and fix bugs (crash diagnostics).
3. Location Data (Including Background Location)
Location is core to the service.
- Driver app: we use your location to find nearby mechanics, share your position with the assigned mechanic so they can reach you, and show routes.
- Mechanic app: we use your location, including in the background and while a job is active, to show you nearby requests, share your live position with the driver who is waiting for you, and calculate arrival times.
We only collect background location when it is needed to provide these features. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services; Android: Settings → Location / App permissions). Disabling location will limit or stop core functionality of the app.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
- Between users: drivers and mechanics see each other's relevant information for an active order — such as name, location, ratings, shop name, and contact details — to complete the service.
- Service providers: we share only the minimum data required with trusted providers who host our infrastructure and deliver maps, notifications, and analytics on our behalf (see Section 5).
- Legal & safety: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Mapbox — maps, routing, and location services.
- Google Firebase (Firebase Cloud Messaging & Crashlytics/diagnostics) — push notifications and crash reporting.
Future payment features, if added, will be processed by reputable third-party payment providers and this policy will be updated accordingly.
6. Data Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution obligations.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You may:
- Access, update, or correct your information in the app's profile settings;
- Delete your account and associated personal data directly in the app (Profile / Settings → Delete Account);
- Request a copy of your data, or ask questions about this policy, by emailing support@izzydrive.com.
We respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
8. Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your account and personal data at any time from within either app (Profile / Settings → Delete Account). You may also request deletion by emailing support@izzydrive.com from your registered email address. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed or anonymized as described in Section 6.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for users under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (including encryption in transit) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
11. International Users
Izzy Drive is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
